Eugenie Pophillat
Clinical Psychologist
BA (Hons), MPsych (Clin)

Eugenie is a registered clinical psychologist and mother of two young children. She has experience in working with families from several cultural backgrounds and has worked with children and their families, adolescents and adults across various inpatient, community and private settings. Eugenie has a special interest in maternal and infant mental health has pursued further postgraduate training in attachment-based therapy. She understands the challenges and pressure encountered by new parents and sees it as a privilege to support them through this tender and often challenging transition to parenthood. Her goal is in supporting parents’ emotional well-being and mental health, and in providing support for difficulties in adjustment to this new role, parental confidence and parent-infant relationship.  Eugenie has a particular interest in assisting parents in establishing secure and resilient relationships with their children, through navigating the inevitable struggles that come with parenting, and in exploring how our past relationships influence current behaviours and relationships.

Eugenie values the need to provide a safe, respectful and non-judgemental space for people to explore their inner world. She brings warmth and compassion in her work to helping individuals and families make sense of their current struggles. Eugenie appreciates that this parenting journey can be raw and lonely at times, but believes that one does not have to go through this ultimately enriching journey, alone.

Eugenie utilises a variety of therapeutic approaches to suit the individual and unique needs of her clients, and incorporates attachment theory, psychodynamic works, and other therapy models (e.g. interpersonal, CBT, Mindfulness).
