Angela Chadwick
Registered Psychologist
B.Science (Psych), Post Grad Dip Psych, Grad Dip Professional Psych
Angela is a Registered Psychologist working in private practice (Wollongong, NSW), focusing on perinatal mental health, maternal wellbeing, and trauma recovery. Angela supports people whom are planning to fall pregnant, are pregnant, are in the postpartum period and those who are navigating their parenting journey.
Angela’s particular interest lies in supporting people who might have experienced adverse, or traumatic life events within the context of the perinatal period; this extends to birth trauma, PTSD, complex traumatic experiences, acute stress, adjustment to parenting, maternal distress, identity changes throughout motherhood, worry about pregnancy and/or childbirth, grief and loss, as well as more general anxiety, worry, depression and mood fluctuations.
Angela’s therapeutic approach is warm and conversational. She aims to foster a safe space where all thoughts and feelings are welcome, without judgement. As a mother herself, Angela brings a deep and empathetic understanding of the challenges that can arise during pregnancy and parenthood.
In terms of her therapeutic ‘toolkit’, Angela has undertaken additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which she utilizes to help people process and move beyond trauma. Angela also integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy into her practice, with the goal of crafting personalised treatment plans, tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.

Mathew Aquilina
Perinatal Psychologist
BA (Psyc), PG Dip (Psyc), MPP
Mathew is a Registered Psychologist and board-approved clinical supervisor. Mathew has a keen interest in the support of fathers and the area of men’s mental health. His interest in perinatal mental health was in part influenced by his own transition to fatherhood and the fascinating, rewarding, and challenging moments that the perinatal journey brought.
Mathew is passionate about providing families and expecting parents with evidence-informed information to assist the transition to parenthood. He is an accredited Becoming Us Facilitator, and Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator. With a background in child and family psychology, Mathew has worked from an attachment-informed lens for the duration of his clinical career. He values the important role that attachment and bonding play in developing psychological wellbeing and positive relational experiences, and this informs his therapeutic style and practice.
Mathew takes an integrative approach to his practice, with experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic therapy, and EMDR. He has a warm and conversational style and a strengths-based view of those he supports, working to build capacity and increase insight rather than focus on deficit or disorder.
Mathew has completed intensive training with the Perinatal Training Centre and is engaged in ongoing clinical supervision in perinatal mental health, to ensure the best care to his clients.
Parents are welcome to bring babies and children along to sessions, with Mathew’s practice space having space and facilities to accommodate this.
