B.Psych (Hons), M.Psych (Clinical), PhD
Lucy is a clinical psychologist, Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor and EMDRAA accredited consultant. She is dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of parents. Her approach is characterised by warmth, empathy and collaboration, grounded in progressive anti-oppressive principles. Lucy is passionate about helping parents find confidence and fulfilment in their parenting journey, in ways that align with their own values and family culture. She also has a special interest in supporting women who have experienced birth-related trauma.
In addition to her private clinic in Ballina, Lucy is a perinatal psychologist consultant with NSW Health’s Sustaining NSW Families program and a respectful maternity care trainer with Maternity Consumer Network.
Lucy uses various therapeutic approaches, dependent on the presenting issue and what works for you. Treatment is informed by attachment theory, interpersonal neuroscience and compassion focussed therapy. Lucy is also a Registered Circle of Security Parent Educator and Certified Gottman’s Bringing Baby Home Educator.
Lucy has undertaken extensive additional training in trauma therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Attachment-Informed EMDR (AI-EMDR), and parts-based approaches such as Ego State Therapy and Resource Therapy. Drawing on these modalities, Lucy offers personalised EMDR intensive programs for birth-related trauma or complex trauma.
