Peta is a qualified and Endorsed Counselling Psychologist who has been working in the Mental Health field for the past 24 years in various roles within both public and private health settings.

Peta is warm, empathic and committed to providing humanistic, client-centred, evidence based therapeutic support to all her clients and their families that is collaborative and responsive to their needs. Peta has a special interest and undertaken further training specifically in attachment, antenatal and postnatal anxiety and depression, grief and loss, trauma, perinatal, infant and paediatric mental health.  She has a keen interest in understanding intergenerational transmission of trauma and attachment patterns.

She enjoys working together with parents to discover the benevolent and adverse influences of attachment from childhood, and understanding the impact on parenting and relationships.  Babies and toddlers are welcome to attend sessions with their parents. This can offer the opportunity to enable reflection on the infant-parent relationship in the moment, and getting to know your child’s individual cues and bids for connection.

Peta works from an integrated framework of interventions inclusive of Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Emotion Focussed Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) and Attachment Focussed techniques. She has over a decade of experience delivering group psychotherapy programs, has presented at conferences for group work facilitated at Ngala and St John of God Raphael Services.

Peta is also an Accredited Facilitator of the Circle of Security© (COS) Attachment Based Parenting Program.
