Supporting parents and couples to feel more steady, connected, and confident in the early years of parenting

Kelly Hinckfuss is a Registered Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency who holds a Master of Clinical Psychology. She is dedicated to perinatal mental health, supporting individuals and couples through pregnancy, birth, and the transition to early parenthood.

Kelly’s interest in this area developed through both her professional training and her own experience of raising a family. She understands that while becoming a parent can be deeply meaningful, it is not always how we imagined. This period of change and adjustment can feel overwhelming at times, and many parents can find themselves feeling unsure, stretched, or not quite like themselves.

She works with concerns such as anxiety, identity changes, and the emotional and relational challenges that can come with a new baby. Kelly has particular experience in birth trauma processing and supporting couple dynamics in early parenting.

Kelly offers a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to share openly. She works alongside you to gently make sense of your experiences, including how your own early relationships may be shaping this time, while also offering practical tools and strategies to support you day to day.

Her work draws on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies.

Kelly’s aim is to support you to feel more steady, supported, and connected, and to move through this time in a way that feels more aligned with the parent you want to be.
