Psychologist
BA (York), MPsyc, PhD (Melb) MAPS Clinical College Fellow

Lisa is a Clinical Psychologist based in Brisbane who has trained and worked in both the public and private mental health systems in Canada, the UK, and Australia. She began her studies and work in Canada and finished her clinical training at the University of Melbourne in 2005, PhD in 2008, and PostGrad Diploma in Perinatal Mental Health in 2025 (including contributions to the program content development and ongoing provision of clinical supervision to supervisees undergoing study).

Lisa has over 25 years of experience working in general and womens mental health with a particular emphasis on perinatal disorders/adjustment issues (including multiple births and carers issues, such as the diagnosis of a child) and has received dedicated training and supervision in the delivery of treatment for eating disorders, although this is no longer her main focus.

Lisas therapeutic and supervision style is based on attachment and neuropsychological-based theories and encourages the exploration of personal values, as well as emphasises self-acceptance and the development of values-driven goals. Only evidence-based psychological treatment methods are used in her approach to therapy and supervision, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement and Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

Lisa’s supervision style is humanistic in nature with an emphasis on reflective practice as foundational in the perinatal space.

Lisa is an inaugural member of the Parenting with Disability Group for Gidget Foundation Australia and is passionate about neurodiversity, particularly during the perinatal period.

Lisa spends her leisure time with her three children as they enter early adulthood and exploring the outdoors in her sea kayak.
