Individual therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore, develop awareness, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. Allison offers therapeutic support with warmth, respect and empathy while you are navigating the complex emotions and decisions of early childrearing. Whilst there are many common themes, Allison sees each client as a unique individual who brings their own beliefs, past experiences, fears, and expectations to therapy.

In session, Allison will provide space for you to tell your story and talk openly about any specific challenges you may be facing. Together, you and Allison will explore and build a deeper understanding of who you are, your emotional needs and your key relationships. This may include exploration of your experiences of being parented, attachment patterns, past trauma and family of origin factors that may shape current patterns of thinking, responding and relating.  Whether you are in the stage of preconception, pregnancy, or early parenting, it can be reassuring to know that you are not alone in your experience.

Allison has gained extensive experience in Adult Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Education. For the past 15 years she has focused her work in the area of Perinatal Psychology where she recognises that the complexities attached to fertility treatment, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, adjustment to parenting, and childrearing can shape individual’s lives in significant ways.

Allison tailors her interventions to each client’s needs, drawing on a flexible, attachment-based framework and a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapies, Schema Therapy and the Marte Meo Method.
