Erin Carloss
Developmental and Perinatal Psychologist
BPysch (Hons) MPsych (Ed & Dev)
Erin is a down to earth, warm and engaging Psychologist, and board-approved supervisor. She has a special interest and advanced training in perinatal mental health and early parenting, and her therapy style is attachment-based, trauma-informed and neurodiversity affirming.
Erin can support clients from pre-conception through to parenthood, navigating issues such as infertility and IVF, perinatal grief and loss, pre- and post-natal anxiety and depression, self-criticism, burn out, birth trauma, adjustment to parenting, neurodivergent parenting, identity in motherhood, bonding with baby, parenting support, and navigating the impact of your own attachment history on your parenting.
Erin is passionate about supporting women and families through all the love and wildness that comes with this life stage. She is a strong believer in the phrase ‘It takes a village to raise a child’, and acknowledges it also takes a village to raise a parent. Getting support from our village – our community – helps us to be our best selves.
Part of Erin’s role is to connect with you as part of your village, by providing evidence-based and effective psychological support and building a meaningful and trusting relationship with you to help you thrive and live your best life.
Erin will work with you to understand your unique situation and goals for therapy, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Circle of Security (COS) approaches. Erin also offers the Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) program intervention to help parents become “Bigger, stronger, wiser and kind”.
Outside of work, Erin is kept busy parenting her own young child. She enjoys reading, keeping active and spending time with her family, friends and dog, preferably with good food and good coffee.
