About the Presenter

Robyn McKinnon – Director of Australian Perinatal Loss Professionals Network & Robyn McKinnon Consultancy & Counselling Services

Robyn is an experienced Mental Health Social Worker of her successful Tasmanian counselling practice. Whilst working in Private Practice, Robyn developed a special interest in Perinatal Loss and Bereavement work from her own personal experience after the death of baby Adam, her firstborn son at 17 weeks gestation. Robyn discovered as she navigated her own journey the significant gaps in support services, not only for families, but also for front line workers and so over the last 10 years she has dedicated much of her own time to develop a number of local support groups, training programs and mentoring options to guide both families, support people and health professionals in the hope that this might make a difference for other families who in the future who experience the loss of a much loved baby.
