Donna Rose
Perinatal, Child & Family Psychologist
MA Psychology, Grad Dip Health Law

Donna is a registered psychologist with over 20 years experience working with young children and their families.

Through her prior employment at The Children’s Hospital Westmead (NSW), Neonatal Intensive Care Units (in NSW and QLD) and The Family Court of Australia, Donna has extensive experience working with families whose journey to parenthood is complicated by loss, premature birth, health or developmental difficulties or social adversity.

Donna has a particular interest in the process of adaption the transition to parenthood brings each individual and the development of the emotional ties that link parent wellbeing and childhood wellbeing.

Donna’s work in perinatal and early childhood health is informed by a scientific background that views the relationship bonds between parents and their children as central to wellbeing, emotional regulation and cognitive development across the lifespan.

She is therefore, deeply committed to working with clients to strengthen parent-child relationships, promote (prospective) parents’ confidence in their own parenting voice and helping families find their unique way to wellbeing and thriving.

At Natal Psychology, Donna offers individual psychological care to mothers, fathers and other non-birth partners.  She also offers early parenting education and family-focused services for infants and young children with developmental and or behavioural health challenges.

Donna has extensive experience delivering psychological care to rural and remote communities and particularly welcomes families from the big heart of Queensland.

Donna is mother and coparent to two preadolescent children who continue to teach her a lot about being their parent every day.
